Description
Illness and Disease Constellations
An Advanced Training for Therapists Working with Chronic Conditions
This training is for therapists, counsellors, and healers who have sat across from a client whose chronic illness will not shift — and who have begun to suspect the work is not in the chair, but somewhere further back, in the body, in the family, in the line.
You have done what your training prepared you to do. You have listened, named patterns, worked with feelings, perhaps moved into deeper somatic or systemic territory. And still, the autoimmune flares. Still, the migraines return. Still, the body holds what the mind has long since understood. This training addresses what to do when insight is no longer enough — when the work needs to move from what the client can say to what the body has been carrying, often across generations.
Over seven days, we work with illness through four doorways. The traditional Chinese medicine organ-emotion map. Rüdiger Dahlke’s shadow framework — illness as the soul’s last patient instrument for integrating what consciousness has refused. The systemic constellation method, working with the lineage that the body remembers. And the personal split — meeting the part of the client that has been stuck in an unresolved event, sometimes for decades, that the present condition is faithfully reporting.
The discipline that holds the entire training is non-curative. This work does not promise healing of the condition. What it can do is help the client come to peace with what is happening — and, sometimes, allow the body the space to do what it has not been able to do while in survival. The training is held alongside, never in place of, medical care. You will leave able to hold that line cleanly with your clients.
Each day combines teaching, live demonstration with a real client, and supervised paired practice. By the close of Day Eight, every participant will have practised the four doorways method on a real condition, witnessed a full ancestral constellation, and built their own three-generation Illness Genogram.
You will leave this training able to:
Recognise when a condition is carrying something for the system, and read which generation the carrying began in. Apply TCM and Dahlke as inquiries, not diagnoses, with the discipline that distinguishes meaning work from harm. Hold the non-curative frame with absolute clarity in a first session. Track what the body shows in real time during constellation work. Work with the polyvagal recognition of what state a client is arriving in, and reach the split that put them there. Build and read a three-generation Illness Genogram. Know when to refer back to medical care, when to wait, when the systemic door is open and the work can begin.
What we cover:
Day 1 — Foundations, the non-curative promise, the four questions, the systemic view, the Illness Genogram.
Day 2 — Polyvagal theory, the ACE study, epigenetics and the inheritance of trauma, the split work.
Day 3 — Traditional Chinese medicine’s Five Elements, Dahlke’s shadow framework, the four-doorways method.
Day 4 — The six systemic mechanisms by which illness transmits across generations.
Day 5 — Autoimmunity and the body at war with itself.
Day 6 — Cancer, terminal illness, and the ethics of working alongside oncology.
Day 7 — Mental health as a systemic condition. Integration, supervision, the practitioner’s body, and certification.
This training is for you if:
You are an experienced therapist of any modality — psychotherapeutic, somatic, holistic, integrative — and you have begun to see the limits of what insight alone can reach in chronic conditions. You are ready to take responsibility for working with serious illness with the discipline it requires. You are willing to refuse the promise of cure and to offer something more precious: a place where the body can finally be seen.
This training is not for those who want a framework that explains all illness, or who are looking for a method that promises healing. We hold this work with care precisely because the field has a history of practitioners who promised too much, and clients who paid for it. If that discipline does not interest you, this training will not serve you.
Lineage and discipline. The training draws from the Hellinger tradition of systemic constellation work, Stephan Hausner’s foundational work on constellations and serious illness, traditional Chinese medicine’s organ-emotion correspondences, Rüdiger Dahlke’s shadow-based interpretive method, polyvagal theory, the epigenetic research of Rachel Yehuda, Michael Meaney, and the Dutch Hunger Winter cohort, and over twenty years of clinical practice in transgenerational healing.
